Ravi K Chandran has graced the industry for more than 3 decades, thanks to his love and dedication towards his art and the coveted quality of being a thorough professional. He is a big proponent of turning obstacles into challenges and challenges into victory. Ravi has earned the reputation of being one of the very few cinematographers who can handle any film regardless of its genre or scale.

Having an experience that speaks volumes about his skills, he has mastered the art of visual balance. The composition of his frames is visually stunning and that explains his innate understanding of colour, light and space. His filmography transcends genre, style and theme. His diligence, interpretation and intuitiveness are huge contributors to his success so far.

Ravi, a founding member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC), is gifted with a perspective like no other. With a bevy of eminent films under his belt, Ravi has won three Filmfare awards, several other awards, recognitions and titles. However, the one that stands out and is special is his nomination for the acclaimed Camerimage Golden Frog Award, (Energacamerimage – The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography), making him the sole nominee from India ever.

He is someone that strongly believes that one’s knowledge grows manifolds only by transferring it to others. That said, today, more than 30 of his assistants are renowned independent Cameramen across regions and languages in India.

A Filmfare award winner twice and for South Cinema , Founding member of ISC ( Indian Society of Cinematographers) Ravi K Chandran has been in the film industry for almost more than 3 decades and has been gifted with a very sharp pair of eyes , a never say never die attitude , an ever lasting hunger for cinema and great visual appeal that figures out beauty in everything around and beautifies the sets with his undying spirit to bring finesse into each and every frame of the film he shoots with his perfectionist mind .

He himself has been a cult director from 2013 onwards directing his mega budget directorial debut film “Yaan “ in Tamil which has received critical accolades and has won many awards down in the south film industry for its visual presentation . As a cinematographer he is the chosen one by many industry’s renowned directors from the likes of Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Leela Bansali, Karan Johar and many ‘A’ listed talented directors.

RKC is the unanimous and chosen Director of Photography by many ‘A’ listed actors and actresses from tinsel town and to name a few , Amitabh Bachchan ( Black) , Shahrukh Khan (My Name Is Khan, Paheli, Rab Ne Bana di Jodi) Khan, and Amir Khan (Dil Chahta hai, Ghajini, Fanaa), Ranbir Kapoor( Saawariya, Anjaana Anjaani) Kajol( Fanaa, My Name is Khan ), Deepika Padukone, He has been signed and has been patented for many world-class leading brands for his sense of presenting a brand aura by leading production houses as he is their favourite for decades now, Brands like Fair & Lovely, Axis Bank, iPhone the list is endless.
